WPT, the well-known Poker giant operating in the entertainment and gaming fields has now entered the blockchain space.
World Poker Tour (WTP) and FansUnite have announced a global partnership wherein FansUnite will be integrated into WPT’s service offerings.
FansUnite is a popular sportsbook blockchain protocol that has transformed the world of sports betting with its revolutionary design. It now calls itself a WPT “Official Partner.”
World Poker Tour is internationally recognized in the gaming and entertainment circles. The firm’s foray into the blockchain marks the beginning of a new era. WPT has been defining trends in the poker space for some 16 years now. It is broadcast in some 150 countries around the world.
The collaboration with FansUnite will see partnerships over international TV distribution. It will also see the showcase of the “Plays of the Week” on Heads Up Daily (HUD) on Super Channel in Canada.
It is important to realize that HUD is the new-format multiscreen destination for all things related to video games and Esports.
The collaboration will also involve on-site promotions and player opportunities at the events of the World Poker Tour across Asia and Europe. Furthermore, it will also entail social media cross-promotion.

FansUnite is a blockchain-based platform for sports data applications— all things that pertain to sports data. This is in addition to its sportsbook offering.
The protocol has now become an industry standard for apps that target sports betting and sports data. In essence, the protocol uses the blockchain to ensure that the execution of bets is free from any bias and tampering. The bet information is securely and immutably stored on the Ethereum blockchain.
In addition, the platform allows users to build a number of DApps (decentralized apps). This will be useful for betting exchanges, bookmaking, fantasy sports, card-based games, and sports data applications. The apps can charge their fees and set market prices at their own discretion.
