Opera Is Now Testing A Mobile Browser With An Inbuilt Crypto Wallet

Opera is working to launch a new browser software which will have a built-in crypto wallet. The browser maker said that the new version of the opera browser will be for android. It will combine an easy to use cryptocurrency wallet and will support Ethereum web3 API. The project is almost complete. The browser is now in private beta with the company inviting potential users to join.

The new browser means that users will no longer have to download a separate wallet to receive, send, or pay using digital currencies. They are able to do that directly from the developed toggle in their browser for their mobile phones. This announcement will particularly be very useful to developers of decentralized web apps (DApps). The new browser means that users can now use and interact more with DApps currently being built on the Ethereum network.

Opera Crypto Head Chimes In

According to the lead on the Opera Crypto, Charles Hamel, “We believe the web of today will be the interface to the decentralized web of tomorrow… By becoming the the first major browser to open up to Web 3.0, we would like to contribute to making the internet of the future more accessible.”

Some of the DApps, like WeiFund, were developed for use on Web 3.0 browsers. The browsers also contain embedded wallets. This new browser boasts of having a simple user interface. It builds on DApp browsers as well as existing browser wallets. The new browser has a default WebView.

With building of this new browser, Opera aims at lowering the entry barrier of Web 3.0 for all potential users. Opera also hopes to offer a better path for the people willing to explore the world of DApps and also those willing to invest in the cryptocurrency sector. This latest launch follows a similar announcement in January. At the time, Opera introduced crypto miner protection for all people using Android devices.

The company says it will continue exploring the crypto sector. Despite the market struggling, such inventions and developments are a good way of bringing more people to invest and learn how the crypto markets operate.
